Website design in Pembrokeshire

Select Pembs designs, builds and improves websites for Pembrokeshire businesses. We bring the pages, content, enquiry forms and ongoing care into an agreed plan, so customers can understand what you offer and get in touch.

Based in the heart of the county, we work mainly remotely and can discuss a visit to your premises when useful. Start with a free initial consultation about your new website or redesign.

What your website project can include

Laptop, monitor and phone displaying responsive website layouts.
Illustrative web-development workspace.

We agree the work around what customers need to do on your website. Your proposal sets out the pages, features and responsibilities, which may include:

  • Website structure and design: service pages, navigation and layouts for phones, tablets and larger screens.
  • Content preparation: agreeing who supplies the words, branding and photographs, and identifying anything missing before the build.
  • Enquiry forms: suitable questions, validation, delivery to the agreed inbox and a clear confirmation for the visitor.
  • Editing and connections: a content management system where needed, or integration with a supported booking, payment or business service.

Graphic design and photography can be discussed alongside the website. Customer accounts, permissions and internal workflows may need a separate application brief.

When you need a web application

A new website or a better existing one

A redesign starts with what is useful already: your content, customer journeys, search landing pages and connections to other services. We review what can stay, what needs improving and whether the existing platform can support the changes.

If the problem is unclear, get advice before commissioning a rebuild. A smaller content or navigation change may be enough; a new site needs a clear reason and scope.

See our own website in use

The Select Pembs website is an example of our own work. It combines service pages, practical buying guides and an enquiry form with accessibility settings and an interactive Pembrokeshire map. It is our business website, rather than a client project.

Try it on your phone, open the accessibility settings or explore the map. These features demonstrate how design and functionality can work together; your own website would be scoped around your customers.

How your website project moves forward

  • Understand the job: tell us who uses the website, what they need to find or do, what you already have and any deadline.
  • Agree the brief: confirm pages, functionality, content responsibilities, costs, dependencies and how you will review the work.
  • Design and develop: review the proposed layout and content, then build the agreed pages and connections.
  • Test and launch: check the main journeys with you, prepare the domain or hosting changes and agree who looks after the site afterwards.

What we check before launch

The launch checklist follows the agreed scope. For a business website, the checks we plan include:

  • Mobile layouts and text resizing: readable pages, usable controls and enough space at the screen edges.
  • Enquiry delivery: required fields, error messages, confirmation and a delivery test to the agreed destination.
  • Search foundations: descriptive titles, headings, internal links, canonical URLs and a sitemap for the pages intended for search.
  • Website changes: a redirect plan where old page addresses change, and checks on services such as email before any domain switch.
  • Usability and loading: keyboard navigation, image dimensions, loading behaviour and unwanted layout movement.

These checks support a usable launch. Search positions and AI recommendations remain decisions for the search providers; they are not guaranteed by a website build.

Ownership, editing and ongoing care

Before choosing a platform, agree how you will update the website and what happens if you change provider. The proposal should explain domain and hosting access, software licences, subscriptions, content ownership and the handover arrangements.

You may prefer to update content yourself or ask us to look after it. Hosting, routine maintenance, content changes and new development are separate responsibilities; we agree what is covered and the ongoing costs.

Website design across Pembrokeshire

We welcome enquiries from Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Tenby, Narberth, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Fishguard, St Davids and the surrounding villages and rural areas. You do not need to travel to an office to plan a project.

A trades website might need separate routes for urgent work and quotations. An accommodation business might need accurate arrival information and a connection to its booking provider. A shop might need opening information, product enquiries or online sales. We decide the right approach with you.

Common questions

How much does website design cost?

The price depends on the pages, content, features, platform and any work needed to move from an existing website. After the free initial consultation, we agree a scope and quote, separating the build from hosting, subscriptions and ongoing care.

How to plan your website budgetCompare website quotes and ongoing costs
How long will a new website take?

We agree a schedule after checking the content, features, approvals and any third-party connections. Tell us about an opening, event or other deadline at the start so we can assess whether it is realistic.

Can you improve a website built by another supplier?

Yes. We first review the website, available access and any licence or platform restrictions. That determines whether targeted changes, a move or a rebuild is practical. You do not need to commission a replacement before that review.

Will I be able to update the website myself?

We agree how editing should work before choosing the platform. Your scope can include access and training for the pages you want to maintain, or separately agreed content updates from Select Pembs.

Do I need to supply the words and photographs?

Bring any existing materials you have permission to use. We identify gaps and agree who will prepare each item. Any additional content, graphic design or photography work is scoped and priced before it starts.
